      • Issued an initial statement conveying the accident occurred and that C.C. Myers was doing its best to ensure safety in the workforce
      • Confirmed the death of worker Richard Christopher Stevens
      • Briefed media on the status of injured workers and successfully refuted false claims about C.C. Myers' workplace safety history
      • Created key messages for other C.C. Myers projects and worksites
      • Coordinated grief counselors to meet with the company's workers who had witnessed the accident

  • CALCASA My Strength Campaign Launch Event
    • The Challenge

      Introduce the My Strength campaign to the target audience of 14-18 year old males and to the secondary audience of influencers, gatekeepers, parents and rape prevention activists.

      • Held launch event at Sacramento High Schools' Underground Books to unveil the campaign elements and recognize participating partners
      • Secured The Strength team and actor, Dorian Gregory, as spokespeople for launch event

      • Every local television station covered the event along with a large spread in the Sacramento Bee
      • The campaign generated more than 150 print, broadcast and online stories garnering more than 13 million impressions

      Position the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) as a leading advocate for corporate governance reform and health care cost containment on the national level

      • Researched corporate governance and health care cost containment initiatives undertaken by CalPERS
      • Conducted opposition research to understand the point-of-view of CalPERS critics
      • Crafted key messages to be conveyed by Chairman Sean Harrigan at editorial board meetings and reporter desk-side briefings
