Meet your next generation of identification. In May 2023, Americans will need a REAL ID or valid form of federal identification in order to fly domestically, visit a military base or enter federal facilities. Since 2019, RSE has worked hand in hand with the California Department of Motor Vehicles to develop a branded, integrated media and outreach campaign to educate Californians about what REAL ID is and encourage them to upgrade their existing driver’s license prior to the REAL ID enforcement date.


During the first two years of RSE’s multi-term contract with the DMV, more than 5.5 million people made the upgrade to a REAL ID.


RSE developed a suite of engaging assets – hundreds in total – to capture Californians’ attention.
